Medium Vulnerability

  • Use thought-provoking or quirky prompts (e.g., “What’s a small thing that recently brought you joy?” or “What’s a hidden talent you have?”). These invite light personal sharing and help teams learn more about each other.

  • A playful drawing game using workplace themes, library terms, or pop culture. It gets people laughing and collaborating, especially in mixed-role teams.

  • A rapid-fire team game where someone shouts “Gimme something that…” (like “...makes you smile” or “...starts with B”), and teams scramble to find or name something that fits. It’s fun, fast, and builds team energy.

Medium Time

These activities encourage teamwork and thoughtful sharing without requiring participants to feel too exposed. Ideal for teams that have some rapport and are ready to connect a little deeper. I suggest these for department meetings, project kickoffs, or to foster collaboration.

  • Present two options (e.g., “Morning errands or evening errands?”) and invite participants to share their choice and a quick reason. It’s low-stakes but can spark deeper conversations.

  • Ask staff to bring in or talk about an object that represents something important to them in their work. It offers insight without requiring personal vulnerability.

  • Each person shares one thing they’re currently thinking about. This could be work-related, personal, or random. This builds awareness of what teammates are carrying and invites empathy.
