Low Vulnerability

  • Create a BINGO card with fun workplace-related traits or experiences (e.g., “Has worked here for 5+ years” or “Loves audiobooks”). Staff mingle to find colleagues who match each square, making it a lighthearted way to connect.

  • Turn everyday tasks into friendly challenges, like seeing who can shelve books the fastest (correctly!) or who can stack the tallest tower of office supplies. A great way to add playful energy to routine work.

  • Provide blank cards for staff to write quick, positive notes to colleagues. These can be anonymous or personal and are a simple way to spread encouragement.

Medium Time

These activities strike a nice balance between fun and connection. They're engaging without asking too much from participants emotionally. Ideal for teams that know each other a little but could use some positive energy or teamwork-building.

I suggest these for staff meetings, breakout sessions, or as a warm-up before deeper conversations.

  • Pose fun workplace-related dilemmas (e.g., “Would you rather have unlimited coffee or an extra day off each year?”). This sparks playful debate and can build skills for communication when people disagree.

  • Post four different answers to a fun question around the room (e.g., “Favorite book genre?” or “Ideal way to spend a day off?”). Participants move to the corner that matches their answer, encouraging casual conversations.

  • Give each person a list of fun, work-friendly scavenger hunt clues (e.g., “Find someone with three plants on their desk”). It’s a simple way to get people moving and interacting without pressure.
